Kajabi vs Mighty Networks — membership/community vs Kajabi’s 1–3 community cap

Updated · Official product and pricing pages fetched this evening. If a number is missing below, we could not cite it.

You already have a method. The fork is not “which all-in-one includes community.” It is course-first vs membership-first: Kajabi is a business OS that attaches one community to a product (three on Pro). Mighty Networks is a branded membership people live in — courses and events inside the network.

Who this page is for

Experts who have one method and are staring at two tabs that both say “courses” and “community.” Kajabi looks like the grown-up course stack. Mighty looks like a branded membership with an app. They are not substitutes. One is a course business with a community bolted to products — cap 1 / 1 / 3. The other is a membership network with courses inside it. This is a live autocomplete comparison. It is not a second community site — the community section already has Mighty Networks vs Circle and Skool vs Circle vs Mighty Networks.

This page does not tell you how to build an audience. If you wanted a school LMS, start at Kajabi vs Teachable vs Thinkific. If the offer is a one-feed room, start at Kajabi vs Skool. If the fork is Circle instead of Mighty, that is Kajabi vs Circle.

The short version

Kajabi

Course-first. The business OS: player, email, funnels, checkout, coaching, and a community. Public Basic is $179/mo. Community cap is 1 / 1 / 3.

Actually for

A course or cohort you sell: sales page, email, checkout, delivery, maybe one community attached. Unlimited marketing emails and funnels on the public grid. No extra platform percentage on Kajabi Payments.

Not for

A branded membership as the offer. One community on Basic. Three on Pro. You already paid for the OS — do not buy it for the room.

Mighty Networks

Membership-first. Official Launch card: run courses and events in your own community. Native iOS/Android apps on the shared Mighty shell. Your name in the stores is Mighty Pro (custom).

Actually for

A membership people live in — courses, events, and a network — including on the phone. Unlimited members. Unlimited spaces on the public grid. You connect Stripe. Mighty’s cut sits on top.

Not for

A cheap first room, or Kajabi’s marketing OS. Public Launch card is $79/mo on the annual toggle this fetch. Launch cannot charge for one-time events. No public email/funnel OS on the pricing grid.

Neither, if

You wanted a one-feed room with Skool as merchant of record, or a school LMS with a catalog.

Go elsewhere

Skool if the group is the offer and you do not want Stripe. Thinkific Basic for a player without Kajabi’s floor. Circle if the product is a branded community with spaces and a site — that fork is Mighty Networks vs Circle.

Do not force it

Do not pick Mighty because it “includes courses” if the offer is a library you would otherwise sell on Kajabi. Do not pick Kajabi because it “includes community” if the membership is the whole business.

Course OS vs branded membership

Course-first (Kajabi). Official line: the operating system for human expertise. Courses, coaching, digital products, memberships, communities. The member list, emails, and checkout are yours inside Kajabi Payments (or a 3rd-party processor with an extra percentage on new plans). Community is a product you attach — access groups, channels inside a course, Meetups with a built-in live room. Cap 1 / 1 / 3. A Kajabi community is still a course-business feature. You pay $179/mo month-to-month for Basic whether you open the community or not. Existing customers hit new rates on the first billing date on or after January 13, 2026.

Membership-first (Mighty Networks). Official product page: community, courses, and events. Native mobile apps — “not web wrappers.” Comparison grid: subscriptions and one-time payments; charge for access to the network or any space; on-demand, cohort, and live courses. Landing pages 1 / 1 / 10. Your own branded apps are Mighty Pro only. You connect Stripe. Mighty’s cut sits on top of Stripe’s for web purchases. Apple 15% on iOS in-app; Mighty does not add its platform fee there. The product is a membership people return to on the phone. Unlimited members. Unlimited spaces. Hosts and moderators: 3+10 / 5+15 / unlimited.

One-feed room (not these two). Skool: the group is the store. Courses and live calls inside the feed. Merchant of record. Hobby $9/mo, 10% transaction fee. Pro $99/mo, 2.9%. That fork is Kajabi vs Skool.

The honest comparison is not “Mighty is cheaper Kajabi.” Launch’s $79 card is the annual toggle this fetch — yearly total $950 — and you still pay 2% plus Stripe, and you still do not get Kajabi’s unlimited-email grid. Kajabi Basic at $179 includes unlimited marketing emails and no extra platform percentage on Kajabi Payments, with one community. If the method is something people buy once and take, Kajabi is the category. If they stay in a branded membership network with courses and events — and you care about the app on the home screen — Mighty is the category. If they stay in a feed, neither of these — that is Skool.

What the fees do to the same sale

Card processing sits on both stacks. Mighty’s percentage is on top of Stripe. Mighty’s help: Stripe typically 2.5%–5% for web; Stripe’s own schedule is Stripe’s — not added as a Mighty dollar here. Arithmetic on listed price, no tax.

Arithmetic only: the monthly gap between Kajabi Basic ($179) and Mighty Launch ($79 on the annual card) is $100 before you price Stripe and before you notice Launch is not month-to-month in the public card this fetch. Yearly: Kajabi Basic annual is $143/mo advertised; Launch is $950/year. That is not “Mighty is cheaper Kajabi.” You are buying a branded membership network, not a marketing OS. You do not buy Scale ($179/mo public card, $2,150/year) to save the 1% on a $97 membership; you buy it for automations, Kit/Zapier/API, or because Launch cannot charge for one-time events. Mighty Pro is the branded-app conversation — no public dollar card.

Who should not pick which

Skip Kajabi if

The offer is a branded membership people stay in, and you will not use landing pages, email, and funnels as the business. You are paying $179/mo for a course OS with one community on Basic. Also skip if you need unlimited separate communities — Pro stops at three. Skip keeping Stripe on a new plan unless you have priced 2/1/0.5%. Skip if you need SCORM.

Skip Mighty Networks if

The offer is a course business: sales page, email sequence, checkout, player. Mighty is a membership network with courses inside it. Also skip if you wanted Skool’s merchant-of-record simplicity and no Stripe account. Skip if you need PayPal in-product (host docs: not supported). Skip if iOS checkout at Apple’s 15% is the path your members will use and you have not priced that. Launch cannot charge for one-time events on the public grid. Do not pick Mighty because the trial is “on Growth” and then stay there without a public Growth dollar in front of you — we could not extract one as a card tonight.

Skip both if

The offer is a feed. That is Skool. Visit button below; official pricing stays the citation. If the offer is a school catalog, start at Kajabi vs Teachable vs Thinkific. If it is Circle’s branded community with a site, that is Mighty Networks vs Circle or Kajabi vs Circle.
